HDPE Pipes - Advantages of PE 80 Compared to PE 63

High strength ( MRS - 8 N/sq. mm.)

High working pressure at same thickness : - A pipe of PE 80 can withstand more working pressure than a pipe of PE 63 with the same thickness.

Lower wall thickness at same working pressure : - A pipe of PE 80 having lower wall thickness than a pipe of PE 63 can withstand same working pressure. Due to lower wall thickness high rate of flow can be achived. Also weight is reduced.

Bigger pipe dimensions producible

High resistance against RCP : - Rapid Crack Propogation, rapid crack is propogated due to the internal pressure of the fluid. PE 80 is having high resistance against RCP as compared to PE 63

High resistance against SCG : - Slow Crack Growth, slow crack is produced on the surface of the pipe due to any notch or external damage. PE 80 is having high resistance against SCG as compared to PE 63

Notes :
SDR = Standard Dimension Ratio
SDR = Outer Dia of Pipe/Thickness of Pipe
MRS = Minimum Required Strength
SDR =
